Rating System


All blogs have been reviewed with a five point rating system:
5.0-4.1: Indispensable: this blog should be included with every educator’s RSS feeder.
4.0-3.1: Excellent: this blog is of substantial merit, though may be flawed or lacking in some essential way
3.0-2.1: Acceptable: a blog of average worth, but one that may possess considerable appeal to teachers of a particular subject or age group.
2.0-1.1: Needs Improvement: a blog that is insubstantial from an educational point of view, although it may contain some worth while information.
1.0-0.0: Not recommended: a blog where the technical competence is at question or it was remarkably ill-conceived; there is little of eduational value for any teacher.

Group members considered the following criteria for the rating of each blog:

  • easy to read (15%)
  • unique (10%)
  • practical (10%)
  • design elements (10%)
    • colors
    • fonts
    • general layout
  • writing style (20%)
    • grammar
    • punctuation
    • spelling
    • word use
  • frequency of updates (10%)
